123 Reg keeps domain DNS controls inside its Control Panel. This guide is mainly about finding the right screen so you can see the existing records before making a requested change.
Sign in to 123 Reg
Open the 123 Reg Control Panel ↗ and sign in to the account that contains the domain.
Find the domain and DNS tab
- Find Domains in the All Products and Services area and select Manage All.
- Select the domain you want to work with from the Domain Portfolio.
- On the domain overview page, select the DNS tab in the navigation.
View the existing DNS records
You should now see the DNS records for the domain. Depending on how the domain is configured, the list can include A, CNAME, MX, TXT and other records.
For the concepts behind them, see what DNS is, what an A record is and what a CNAME record is.
Make sure 123 Reg controls the live DNS
123 Reg's own guidance notes that DNS changes made in its Control Panel will not take effect if the domain is using another provider's nameservers. In that situation, the live DNS records need to be managed at the nameserver provider instead.
Do not delete records just because you do not recognise them. MX and TXT records are often related to email, security or verification and may be essential to the business.
Official 123 Reg resource
123 Reg also publishes current instructions for this area of its control panel. If the interface has changed since this Toolbelt Websites guide was updated, use the provider's own documentation as the authoritative interface reference.
