Use this guide to find the DNS records IONOS is managing for your domain. A domain can be registered with IONOS while some services are handled elsewhere, so the important thing is to edit records only in the DNS zone that is actually authoritative for the domain.
Open the DNS records in IONOS
- Sign in to your IONOS account ↗.
- Open Domains & SSL.
- Find the required domain and open the menu/gear control under Actions.
- Select DNS.
- The DNS page shows the records associated with that domain.
What records may be listed?
You may see records including A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT and SRV, together with records used by other services.

Pay attention to IONOS service warnings
IONOS can automatically manage DNS records when a domain is connected to an active IONOS service. Its control panel may show the service in the DNS settings and can warn you if a manual record would conflict with a record managed by that service.
Do not override the warning blindly. Do not disable an IONOS service, delete unrelated records or remove email configuration simply to force a DNS change. If the control panel says a service is managing the record and you are unsure what will be affected, contact Toolbelt Websites support first.
If you cannot find the expected records
If the domain uses nameservers from another DNS provider, the live DNS may need to be changed with that provider rather than IONOS. See How do I find my DNS settings? if you are unsure.
