That timescale is an aim, not an unconditional guarantee. A website project depends on real business information, media and sometimes access to services that Toolbelt Websites cannot invent or control.
The seven-business-day aim
Once onboarding has been received and the build has what it needs to proceed, Toolbelt Websites works towards providing the private prototype within approximately seven business days.
The prototype is the version you review before the normal final revision round and launch preparation.
What can extend the timescale?
Common dependencies include:
- important business information that has not yet been supplied;
- waiting for a logo, photographs or other media;
- delayed customer responses where a decision or factual answer is required;
- unusual functionality or requirements that need additional work;
- public holidays; and
- circumstances outside Toolbelt Websites' reasonable control.
The point is not to assign blame. It is simply that a build cannot be completed around information or assets that do not yet exist.
Why the information matters
Imagine the main logo is still being redesigned and will not be available for two months. Toolbelt Websites can often make progress elsewhere, but it would not be realistic to treat the final website as though the finished logo had been supplied on day one.
The same principle applies to missing services, prices, photographs, legal business details or access needed for a particular feature.

Prototype time is not always launch time
The seven-business-day aim relates to the prototype being ready for review. The website still needs your review, the normal final revision round and the appropriate launch preparation afterwards.

How to keep the project moving
Complete onboarding as thoroughly as you reasonably can, flag anything you know is still missing and respond when Toolbelt Websites needs a factual answer or asset from you.
Toolbelt Websites can move quickly when it has what it needs to work with. You do not need perfect website copy or technical knowledge; you do need to provide the business facts that cannot sensibly be guessed.
