Krystal DNS can be managed through different interfaces. Before changing an A record, confirm whether your domain uses the Client Area DNS Records service or a cPanel Zone Editor zone.
Using Krystal Client Area DNS
- Sign in to the Krystal Client Area ↗.
- Open DNS Records from the left-hand sidebar.
- Open the existing DNS zone for the correct domain.
- Find the A record Toolbelt Websites has asked you to change and use the available edit action for that record.
- Enter the IP address supplied to you by Toolbelt Websites.
- Leave unrelated records and other values unchanged unless your instructions say otherwise.
- Save the record.
Using cPanel Zone Editor
- Open cPanel for the relevant hosting account.
- Go to Domains → Zone Editor.
- Select Manage beside the correct domain.
- Find the required A record and select Edit.
- Replace only the address/value with the IP address supplied to you by Toolbelt Websites.
- Select Save Record or the current save control shown by cPanel.
Protect email and unrelated records
Do not delete MX, TXT, CNAME or additional A records unless those exact changes have been requested. Do not reset the DNS zone.
If the domain uses a Krystal configuration outside the two normal routes above, contact Toolbelt Websites support instead of guessing.
After the update
Krystal notes that changes are available on its nameservers after saving, but other DNS resolvers can continue using cached information until the relevant TTL expires. That means the old destination can remain visible for a period.
