Getting Help

What information should I include in a support request?

A clear support request helps Toolbelt Websites understand the issue or change more quickly and reduces the need for follow-up questions.

Start with the basics

Include the information that identifies the website and explains what you need:

  • your business name;
  • your website or domain;
  • a clear description of the issue or request;
  • the page or section affected;
  • what you expected to happen;
  • what actually happened;
  • a screenshot where it helps explain the issue.

Add device or timing details when useful

If the issue only happens in a particular situation, mention the device and browser you were using, whether it affects desktop or mobile, and whether it happens every time or only occasionally. An approximate time can also be useful when you are reporting something that happened once.

For form problems

If you are reporting a website enquiry-form problem, include which form you used, the approximate submission time and the recipient email address you expected the enquiry to reach. Avoid sending repeated test submissions while you are checking the issue.

Do not email passwords casually

Keep login details secure

Do not send passwords through an ordinary support email unless Toolbelt Websites has specifically instructed you to use an appropriate secure method.

See How can I securely provide login details? if access is needed.
