Will I be told that my card is expiring?
Stripe can send an expiring-card notification to the billing email address associated with your subscription. The purpose is to give you an opportunity to update the payment method before the existing card stops working.
Make sure the billing email address on your Toolbelt Websites account is current so these messages reach the right person. If it has changed, see how to change your billing email address.
How do I update the expiring card?
Use the secure Stripe-hosted payment-update route provided in the billing communication where available. Alternatively, contact support@toolbeltwebsites.co.uk and Toolbelt Websites can provide the appropriate secure route.
You enter the replacement card details directly into Stripe. See how to update the card used for your subscription.
Updating the card before the next renewal or monthly collection is the simplest way to avoid a preventable failed-payment cycle.
Should I send the new card details to Toolbelt Websites?
No. Do not email or message your card number, expiry date, security code or images of the card to Toolbelt Websites.
Toolbelt Websites can help you reach the correct secure payment page, but the payment-card details themselves should be entered directly into Stripe.
What if I do not update the card before it expires?
If a future subscription payment cannot be collected, Stripe can begin the normal failed-payment recovery process. That can include payment-failure emails and retry attempts.
See what happens if a payment fails for more information.
If you have already updated the card but still receive a failure message, contact Toolbelt Websites and we can check the billing status. You still should not send the new card details to us.
