1. Check Spam or Junk first
Legitimate automated messages can occasionally be filtered by the receiving email provider. Check Spam, Junk and any quarantine area available in your email service. Our guide Can contact form emails go into spam? explains why this can happen.
2. Search the inbox and check mail rules
Search for recent website enquiries rather than relying only on the inbox view. A mailbox rule, filter or folder may have moved the message automatically.
3. Confirm the expected recipient address
Make sure you know which mailbox the website is currently configured to use. If the business recently changed addresses or staff, the expected destination may have changed. See Where do website enquiries go?.
4. Check that the mailbox can receive normal email
Send the recipient address a normal email from another account. A full mailbox or a problem with the business email service can prevent messages arriving even when the website itself is working.
5. Submit one controlled test
Use the public form yourself and follow our form-testing steps. If the form shows a success message but no email arrives after the inbox and Spam checks, contact Toolbelt Websites support so we can investigate further.
