Why are plan changes not self-service in Stripe?
Your subscription is connected to an active managed website service. Changing a plan can affect page allowances, support, update time and other service features, while cancellation can affect the website, domain and ongoing service arrangements.
Handling the request through Toolbelt Websites avoids changing the billing record without also dealing with the service that sits behind it.
It also means we can tell you in advance if a requested change affects page limits, support level, update allowance, notice requirements or any other part of the managed service.
How do I change my website plan?
Contact Toolbelt Websites and tell us what you want to change. We can review your current plan and explain the appropriate options before anything is updated.

Changing the card used to pay for the subscription is not a plan change. Payment methods can be updated securely through Stripe while the website package itself remains the same.
How do I cancel the service?
Cancellation requests should also be made through Toolbelt Websites rather than through Stripe. This allows the billing position, notice requirements and website arrangements to be handled properly.

Do not assume that removing or replacing a payment method in Stripe is the same as submitting a cancellation request. The service needs to be dealt with through Toolbelt Websites.
What can I use Stripe for?
Stripe can still provide secure payment-related functions where appropriate, such as updating the payment method and viewing available invoice or payment information.
Stripe manages payment information. Toolbelt Websites manages the website service.
