How much update time is included?
- One Page: 15 minutes per billing cycle;
- Starter: 30 minutes per billing cycle;
- Growth: 1 hour per billing cycle;
- Pro: 2 hours per billing cycle.
The allowance follows the billing cycle for the service. It is not automatically a calendar-month allowance.
Does unused time roll over?
No. The allowance resets each billing cycle and unused time does not carry forward.
This also applies if you pay annually. Annual billing does not create one combined yearly update allowance.
What kinds of changes can use the allowance?
Reasonable changes to the existing website can include text edits, replacing images, service updates, contact-detail changes, opening hours, team information, minor content or layout changes and copywriting work where appropriate.
Toolbelt Websites uses professional judgement rather than trying to turn every small request into a rigid rule. The purpose of the allowance is to cover sensible ongoing changes to the website you already have.
What does not normally fall within it?
The update allowance is not intended to absorb a major website redesign, extensive new functionality, a separate SEO campaign, work on another unrelated website or a substantial standalone development project.
If a request sits outside normal service, suitable ad hoc work can be charged at £50 + VAT per hour in 15-minute billing increments. Where ongoing needs would be better served by a higher plan, Toolbelt Websites may recommend an upgrade instead.
What about additional pages?
Standard additional pages are separate from the update allowance. They are priced at £10 + VAT per page per month, and the normal page build is included in that charge.
We do not also deduct the standard page build from your update allowance or charge the normal page again at the £50/hour rate. Read Can I upgrade, downgrade or add more pages? for the standard-page scope.
