Your domain is the address people use to reach the website. The company that manages the domain registration does not have to be the same company that hosts the website.
You can normally keep your registrar
If your domain is already registered with a provider you are happy with, it can normally stay there. Moving the website does not automatically require moving ownership or registration of the domain.

How the domain connects at launch
When the new website is ready to go live, the domain can normally be connected by updating the appropriate DNS or nameserver settings. The exact change depends on where the domain is managed and how the existing services are configured.

What access might be needed

What if I do not have a domain yet?
If you are starting without a domain, Toolbelt Websites can arrange a suitable domain on your behalf, or you can purchase one yourself and provide the necessary access or details.
The important thing is to choose the domain deliberately rather than letting domain administration hold up the entire website project.
Tell us about email before anything changes
A domain can also be connected to business email. Before launch, Toolbelt Websites needs to understand any existing email setup so that website changes do not accidentally disrupt a working mailbox.
