Can my domain provider and hosting provider be different companies?
Yes. This is very common. You may renew your domain through one account and pay another company for website hosting. Email may also be supplied separately again.

Toolbelt Websites may sometimes need access during a website project to review information held on the existing website or to help manage the transition to the new website. The access required depends on the existing setup and the work being carried out.
If access is needed, Toolbelt Websites will tell you what is required. You do not need to change hosting settings simply because a new website is being built.
How do I find my hosting provider?
Start by checking old website invoices, welcome emails and account logins. Look for wording such as hosting, web hosting, website plan or server.
