If you have a WordPress or Managed WordPress hosting package but cannot find cPanel, that does not automatically mean there is a problem with the account. The hosting package may simply be designed specifically for WordPress and intentionally provide a more restricted set of controls.
Why can WordPress hosting be more restricted?
WordPress-only hosting is built to make running a WordPress website simpler. That can be entirely appropriate for a WordPress site, but the provider may control more of the underlying hosting environment for you.
Depending on the package, you may find that there is no cPanel or traditional hosting dashboard, and that access to files, domains, databases or other hosting settings is limited. You might be able to log into WordPress and even use FTP or SFTP while still having very little control over the wider hosting account.
Does Toolbelt Websites require cPanel?
No. Toolbelt Websites does not require cPanel specifically. cPanel is simply one common example of a full hosting control panel. Other hosting providers use different dashboards that can provide equivalent functionality.
The important question is whether the hosting package gives Toolbelt Websites the level of access and functionality needed to deploy and manage the new website properly. If you are unfamiliar with cPanel, see What is cPanel?.
Why might FTP or SFTP access not be enough?
FTP and SFTP are mainly ways of accessing website files. On a restricted WordPress package, those details may only give access to part of the WordPress file area rather than the wider hosting account.
Think of it like this: FTP access can be like being given a key to one room rather than the keys to the whole building. You may be able to reach website files without having control over the wider hosting environment.
So successfully providing FTP or SFTP details does not by itself confirm that the hosting will be suitable for the replacement website. You can read more in What is FTP? and What is SFTP?.
What should I do if my hosting is WordPress-only?
Do not upgrade, cancel or change anything just because cPanel is missing. Instead, give Toolbelt Websites the hosting information and access that is legitimately available and we can review the setup.
1. The existing hosting may be suitable
If the account provides the access and functionality needed for the new website, it may be possible to continue using it. This needs to be checked rather than assumed.
2. The existing hosting may be too restricted
If the package is limited to WordPress or does not provide the functionality required, the simplest option will normally be to use the hosting provided by Toolbelt Websites.

What happens to my domain and email?
Moving the website to different hosting does not normally mean your domain has to be transferred. Your domain can usually remain with the existing domain provider and continue under your control, with the relevant domain or DNS settings updated when the new website is launched.
Email is also a separate consideration. A WordPress hosting package may or may not be providing business mailboxes or DNS services. Before changing or cancelling anything, make sure the existing account is not still responsible for email or another service the business needs.

Keep the existing WordPress website live for now
Your existing WordPress website can normally stay live while the new Toolbelt Websites website is being prepared. Unless Toolbelt Websites has advised you otherwise, do not delete WordPress, remove website files, cancel the hosting, change DNS or change nameservers during the build.
Keeping the existing service in place protects the current website while the replacement is prepared and gives time to check whether email or other services depend on the old account.
